Sex Education Listening Sessions & Policy Talks

In partnership with Pro-Choice Minnesota and The Women's Foundation of Minnesota, I have been traveling to campuses across Minnesota to listen and speak on sex education.

Our listening sessions bring an opportunity for students to share their experiences and hopes for the future of Minnesota sex education to legislators through an executive report we'll be sharing this session.

In accompanying campus speaking appearances, I share information on sex education policy across the US as well as in Minnesota. My focus is informing and empowering students to make change they want to see with policy knowledge and context.

Birds & Bees: Stories from the "Sex Talk"

This ongoing book project contains a collection of stories detailing the many experiences and emotions that accompany learning about sex as a kid.

With grounding in sexual health education and communication research and over 50 stories from folks with a wide range of identities and experiences, Birds & Bees pushes readers to consider their own sex education more deeply, share their stories more openly, and create a future where sex and relationship conversations are open and honest.

The manuscript is in progress and I will be seeking out publishing opportunities soon, so stayed tuned!

Sex Education at the Art Shanties Projects

The Art Shanties Projects are one of my favorite winter traditions in Minnesota, and this year the Art Shanties team asked me to bring sex education outreach to their programming.

Over 6 hours, I spoke with hundreds of folks in this ice house on a frozen Bdé UmáÅ‹ (Lake Harriet) about their sexual health and sex education policy knowledge.

By creating more spaces where sex education is the center of conversation, we normalize sex education advocacy and demystify the realities of sex education policy so we can fight for more expansive and honest sex education collectively.

Sex ed is a human right. It's time we start treating it like one.
